REGULATIONS

3rd Cinema of Tomorrow international competition will take place from November 15th to 24th 2016 within the framework of 38th Cairo International Film Festival, in Egypt.


The Cinema of Tomorrow international competition is a Short Film competition (Fiction – Animation – Documentary – Experimental).

Eligibility:

* Egyptian and international Films are eligible.
* Films must have been produced after october 2015.
* Films should not have been previously screened in Egypt.
* Films should not have been broadcast on cable or satellite TV channels, nor streamed on the internet.
* The duration of the film must not exceed 40 minutes.
* English subtitles are required for non-English dialogue.

* The deadline for entry form submissions is 15th August 2016 .
* The Jury, composed of cinema industry delegates and experts from all over the world, will select the winners of the competition. The following prizes will be awarded to the winners:

- Youssef Chahin Award for the Best Short Film.
- Special Jury Award.

* The prizes will be awarded to the directors.
* Required exhibition format: DCP/Quicktime File.
* Films can be sent for Pre-selection by post (on DVD) or as a link to the video.

Additional Information:

* Trailers of submitted films may be used by the Festival committee for promotional purposes on TV channels, on the internet and in theaters.
* The Festival committee is responsible for returning the films
